Huntaway Sport Horses is based in New Plymouth.
We offer services in pre-training, breaking, schooling and agistment. So if you are off on holiday, your horse can continue to be looked after with us.

Julianne can also offer lessons either at our property or she can come to you.
Services

Schooling
If you have a horse who would benefit from having some consistent work put into them then we can school your horse or pony. The schooling will depend on what you are wanting to achieve whether that be improving their flat work, hacking or jumping skills.

This might be adding some buttons to a younger horse or improving skills your horse or pony has.
If you would like to discuss your horses needs then please get in touch. We let you know what availability we have and organise a schooling agreement with you.
Spelling and Agistment
There are a number of options for livery with us. Horses can be grazed in small herds or alone Both of these options include cover changes as needed and hay. If you would like your horse to have hard feed, this can be supplied if grazed alone, otherwise there is a charge to bring them in each day for feeding away from the herd.

Any vet or farrier requirements are to be passed onto the owner.
We can also offer stabling for horses requiring box rest. This would include hay and also mucking out at least twice daily. Hard feed can be added if needed.

Please contact us and we can give you prices depending on your needs. The walker can also be added if you wish.
Lessons
Private lessons are organised directly with Julianne. She has jumped to pony grand prix and horse mini prix heights. Her passion is show jumping but has had plenty of success in the show hunter ring as well. She particularly loves bringing young horses through the ranks.

Lessons can be part of schooling your horse or arranged separately. They can focus on aspects of horsemanship that you are interested in. This might include ground work, flat work or jumping.

Breaking In
Breaking your horse in is one of the most important times in its life. This process sets the foundations for a successful ridden career and we are passionate about ensuring that this is a positive experience. The time taken will vary with each horse but usually a minimum of 6 weeks is needed.
The process starts by ensuring that the basic ground work is in place and that the horse is completely comfortable before the saddle and bridle are added. Finally the rider is added and we work to ensure that they are safe for you to enjoy continuing their ridden work. This process can take less or more time. In the case of less, we begin to include plenty of hacking variety for them. In the case we need more time, we will communicate this fully and ensure that you are kept up to date with progress.

Pre -Training
Our pre-training program at Huntaway Sport Horses has been created from multiple angles. We understand the
essential relevance of biomechanics, muscle development and resistance training. All requirements
to achieve the highest level of fitness in a safe amount of time.

We aim to improve the horse’s fitness to create a head start for your horse's racing career. Here
at Huntaway Sport Horses we work with you and your thoroughbred, to ensure the best possible future racing
campaign.

Prices starting from $50 +gst per horse per day, with the following inclusions:
- Exercise regime, specifically structured to your horse
- Feeding program customisable completely up to you & your trainer’s requirements
- Full use of strength facilities including the walker.
- Rugging as required.
- Stabling when required.
- Grooming/ bathing as required.
The following services are available at an additional cost upon request:
- Use of the water walker
- Holding for the vet or farrier
